چکیده

Thioredoxin (TRX) is a small molecule protein that participates in the redox process and plays decisive role various functions of plants. However, TRX Medicago sativa (alfalfa), widely cultivated perennial herb legume, still poorly understood. Here, we isolated MsTRX from alfalfa determined characteristics improving salt tolerance by assaying phenotype physiological changes expression stress-response genes transgenic tobacco. The was similar roots, leaves, inflorescences, downregulated response to cold, drought, treatment. overexpression tobacco promoted accumulation soluble sugar (SS) proline; enhanced activity peroxidase (POD); induced upregulation beta-amylase 1 (BAM1), lipid-transfer (LTP1), candidate signal molecules/sensor relay proteins (CBSX3), superoxide dismutase [Cu-Zn] (Cu/Zn-SOD), [Mn] (Mn-SOD), gamma (GR1), dehydrin DHN1-like (ERD10B), serine/threonine-protein kinase (SnRK2), as well downregulation phyB activation-tagged suppressor1 (BAS1) phosphorylates LHCII 7 (STN7) under stress. These results indicated improves via maintaining osmotic homeostasis, scavenging reactive oxygen species (ROS), regulating transcription In our study, provided new understanding how stress plants can be included future breeding programs improve alfalfa.

Overexpression of a wheat aquaporin gene, TaAQP8, enhances salt stress tolerance in transgenic tobacco.

Aquaporin (AQP) proteins have been shown to transport water and other small molecules through biological membranes, which is crucial for plants to combat salt stress. However, the precise role of AQP genes in salt stress response is not completely understood in plants. In this study, a PIP1 subgroup AQP gene, designated TaAQP8, was cloned and characterized from wheat. Transient expression of Ta...

Overexpression of a zinc-finger protein gene from rice confers tolerance to cold, dehydration, and salt stress in transgenic tobacco.

Stress perception and signal transduction leading to tolerance involve a complex interplay of different gene products. We describe here the isolation and characterization of an intronless gene (OSISAP1) from rice encoding a zinc-finger protein that is induced after different types of stresses, namely cold, desiccation, salt, submergence, and heavy metals as well as injury. The gene is also indu...

Salicornia europaea L. Na⁺/H⁺ antiporter gene improves salt tolerance in transgenic alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.).

In order to obtain a salt-tolerant perennial alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.), we transferred the halophyte Salicornia europaea L. Na(+)/H(+) antiporter gene, SeNHX1, to alfalfa by using the Agrobacterium-mediated transformation method. The transformants were confirmed by both PCR and RT-PCR analyses. Of 197 plants that were obtained after transformation, 36 were positive by PCR analysis using 2 pr...

Assessment of salt tolerance in transgenic tobacco (Nicotiana tobacum L.) plants expressing the AUX gene

Transformation of plants using Agrabacterium rhizogenes may affect secondary metabolite production as well as morphological changes. In this study, T-DNA from Ri plasmid in A. rhizogenes carrying pRi15834-PRT35S-GUS was introduced into tobacco leaf segments to initiate development of transformed hairy roots. Plant regeneration from transgenic roots used MS medium, and plants regenerated fro...

TaCIPK29, a CBL-Interacting Protein Kinase Gene from Wheat, Confers Salt Stress Tolerance in Transgenic Tobacco

Calcineurin B-like protein-interacting protein kinases (CIPKs) have been found to be responsive to abiotic stress. However, their precise functions and the related molecular mechanisms in abiotic stress tolerance are not completely understood, especially in wheat. In the present study, TaCIPK29 was identified as a new member of CIPK gene family in wheat. TaCIPK29 transcript increased after NaCl...
